Environmental portraits
This last few weeks I’ve been out of the studio taking some headshots for a couple of local businesses. I wanted to do something a little different to the normal ‘business’ headshot with the plain background, so I grabbed my camera and some flashes, left the control of the studio and photographed them in their environment. Although this can be a little challenging it is something that I wanted to do. I think the results speak volumes. Photographing someone in their working environment, means they haven’t been taken out of their comfort zone. They’re more relaxed…and that shows.
A meaty start
First up was RW Roberts Butchers of Pencoed. Richard and his staff were very accommodating and couldn’t do enough for me. With this help, I managed to get just what I wanted.

Finely tuned
I followed up my shoot at RW Roberts Butchers with a trip to the top end of Pencoed and S&T tyres. Again, Steve was amazingly helpful…”do what you want”…so I sort of did. Although the garage is a much bigger building than the butchers, when there are 6 cars in it offered me a similar challenge. My aim this time was to try and create a different feel for each of the mechanics, by moving the shoot around the garage without getting in the way of what was clearly a busy garage.

What next?
Next would be one more shoot with a similar feel. I’m looking for a local (Pencoed) business that has around 4-5 employees and needs some headshots doing for their website, etc. Ideally, I would like to this shoot within the next week, before I open this up to any business that wants needs headshots doing.
If you are interested in and fit the criteria, please drop me a message and we’ll see if a shoot can be done.
If you don’t quite fit my criteria for the shoot but are interested, then please feel free to still contact me and I can give you some more details on what I can offer and how much it might cost you.
